Position Overview
The Data Analyst will focus on analyzing complex datasets and translating them into interactive, actionable insights through data visualization, using a wide array of tools.
The Data Analyst is responsible for supporting internal and client-facing data projects aimed at offering insights on social challenges with an emphasis on driving actionable strategies. This individual will work closely with a diverse team of professionals, community partners, and organizations and must have a strong passion for collaborative work.
This individual must have a solid educational foundation and the ability to balance delivery of near-term results that are aligned with the long-term vision and roadmap. This person must be detail-oriented and a fast learner.
Responsibilities and Skills:
- Conduct in-depth data analysis using statistical techniques and programming languages (e.g., SQL, Python, R) to extract meaningful insights. Work with CCRI’s data team to clean, manipulate, and prepare datasets from various public, proprietary, and custom data sources.
- Perform basic and advanced statistical analyses, identify trends, and develop insights to support CCRI’s internal projects and external reports.
- Design and create compelling data visualizations (e.g., charts, graphs, dashboards) using tools like Tableau (preferred), Power BI, or other visualization software that allows for easy exploration and interpretation of key insights.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts to ensure the accuracy and relevance of data visualizations.
- Work closely with CCRI’s team members and clients to understand their needs, define project goals, and ensure that data-driven solutions meet their objectives.
- Collaborate with the CCRI team to ensure visualizations align with project goals and present complex data in an easily understandable format for technical and non-technical audiences.
- Partner closely with CCRI data scientist to integrate their insights into visually compelling formats.
- Work across the organization to support internal and external data needs, ensuring that data visualizations and analysis contribute meaningfully to CCRI’s goals.
- Ensure that data stories resonate with the target audience, focusing on making complex information easily digestible.
- Ensure data integrity, accuracy, and consistency across all projects.
- Regularly update and maintain data dashboards, integrating new data sources as they become available.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Economics, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in data analysis and visualization, with proven proficiency in SQL, Python, or R.
- Experience with data visualization tools like Tableau or Power BI (Tableau preferred).
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on data accuracy and quality.
- Ability to present complex data in an accessible format for technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Familiarity with GIS and spatial data visualization (preferred but not required).
- Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Compensation and Benefits
The salary will be negotiated based on experience, qualifications, and record of achievement. Minimum starting salary of $75,000. Candidate salary history will not be requested nor referenced in negotiating salary. Health, dental, and additional benefits are available.
Hours
37.5-hour work week. Office hours are 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM. CCRI offers flexible time options for its full-time employees in good standing, after 3 months of satisfactory employment, as well as remote/hybrid flexibility.
